A Remarkable Three Weeks at St John’s
The past three weeks have been one of the busiest periods in our college calendar. From Summer Congregation celebrations in Durham Cathedral to conferences, visiting scholars and welcoming guests from around the world, St John’s has been abuzz with activity.
Over the past three weeks, our teams have delivered an exceptional level of commercial and operational activity, including:
- Approximately 200 student departures, with rooms cleaned and prepared for incoming B&B guests.
- Welcoming a Visiting Scholar from the United States.
- Welcoming more than 250 guests through our B&B and conference accommodation, with stays ranging from one to five nights.
- Delivering an incredible 22 events, including 13 Graduation Receptions, two Graduation Dinners and the Church Planting Conference during which we served approximately 2,600 guests.
Managing this level of activity over such a short period is no small task, particularly for a relatively small team. The fact that it has been delivered so successfully, and with such positive feedback from our guests, is a credit to everyone involved. We are grateful to all those who played a part. Your kindness, hospitality and hard work continue to make St John’s a welcoming place for guests, students and visitors alike.
