John Dorward
John leads the Catering team at St John’s, overseeing the day-to-day delivery of food and drink across the College for students, staff, alumni and visitors. Working closely with the chefs and front-of-house team, he helps create a welcoming dining experience, from everyday meals in Haughton Dining Room to formals, conferences and special events.
The Catering team takes pride in providing fresh, varied and inclusive menus, catering for a wide range of dietary requirements and helping make shared meals an important part of College life.
John has been part of the St John’s Community for over 20 years and is proud of the fantastic team and sense of family and belonging it fosters. Over the years John’s has also become woven into his own family story – his daughter, son in law and son have all worked in the catering team as they made their way through university, and it has been wonderful to see them experience the same sense of belonging. John is passionate about cooking and believes that food is an excellent way to bring people together.
