Gaël Pardoën
Gaël is a Programme Associate at Equipping Christian Leadership in an Age of Science (ECLAS). He completed his PhD in Theology and Religion at Durham under the supervision of Professor Karen Kilby, where he developed an understanding of belonging as a foundational theological category for Christian thought and practice.
Gaël previously served as a Research Assistant for the Catholic Theology in Practice Network at the University of Roehampton, working alongside Professor Clare Watkins. He is currently collaborating on several publications emerging from this work. He is also working on his first monograph and a new international project with several colleagues exploring the lived faith, love, and theological witness of LGBT Catholic families. Recent publications include an article in the Scottish Journal of Theology and a chapter in a volume by the Pontifical University of Colombia.
His research is shaped by a concern for how theology engages with embodied experience and the realities of Christian life in communities marked by complexity and imperfection. He is particularly interested in how faith, dissent, integrity, and fidelity can be held together within the Church.
