Şeyma Nur Karaman
Şeyma Nur Karaman is a PhD candidate in Philosophy of Religion at Marmara University, Türkiye.
Her research examines the place of petitionary prayer within divine action in the context of the God–world relationship, exploring whether prayer can be one of the reasons for God to act. Bringing classical Islamic philosophy into dialogue with contemporary philosophical debates, she focuses on the role of the supplicant’s condition in relation to divine providence, causality, and the laws of nature. Drawing on the works of al-Kindī, Avicenna (Ibn Sīnā), and al-ʿĀmirī, she aims to contribute to philosophical discussions of petitionary prayer.
